Okay, some questions...

I'll be coming Saturday morning. Will there be a registration table? How early will they be out? Where will it be?

Once registered are bunks assigned ahead of time or do we just grab what's open? What are sleeping arrangements? Boys and girls cabins? Co-ed? Couples?

Thanks! More questions to come I'm sure Smiley

Good questions.  I'm trying to decide on going Friday night or Saturday morning.  I'm leaning toward Saturday morning.  I don't want to get there so late I miss activities, but I don't want to get there too early that no one is up to check us in.

There is a month left for the organizers to decide schedules for this stuff.  Plenty of time.  Smiley

We have left the bunks as co-ed because of the idea of having families together. Cabin assignments are going to be on a first come-first served pick your own basis, although we might decide to have one cabin that is staff only. Simply put, we intend to accomodate the requests as best possible.  There is a tai-chi class slated for early Saturday morning, so as soon as we are up, registration should be available. Think of registration more as finding the person with the clipboard than a specific place, although we do intend to keep you from having to run all over.

Another point of clarification...a "cabin" is a summer camp cabin...there are about 20-25 bunkbeds in a room. These are not private rooms. The walls are between the bathroom and the bunk space, not between bunkspaces. Imagine being in an Independents "boot camp". There are six of these all together, but we'd like to try and keep together as much as possible. If you aren't comfortable with the cabins that are already occupied, and there's a whole cabin that no one else is in yet, you might just get it to yourselves, but we will also allow the next person to check in to decide if they want to bunk there.

Thanks! I've actually stayed in bunk cabins before which brings me to my next newbie question...I'm assuming we have to bring our own sheets/sleeping bags/pillows/what-have-you's?

Update:
I was nervous about the co-ed sleeping arrangements since I'm going by myself.  My very kind husband offered to go with me, even though he hadn't seen a single Whedon creation.  I had him watch the Firefly episode, "Out of Gas."  I figured I'd have him watch that and "Jaynestown".  After the first one, he wanted to see the whole series.  I have successfully corrupted him.

So Jedimika, you will have another Louisvillian there.  Though I don't think my other friend is going.

Well...glad to hear he's joining us! Don't let the co-ed sleeping situation make you nervous though. Think of it as nap time at daycare.

Purple, it will be great to meet the two of you. Very happy to hear about your husband's corruption. (That sounded a lot better in my head  Cheesy)

Everyone should have gotten an email with a packing list for overnight stays...but if you didn't, the list is on the frontpage of the website.
See everyone in a couple of days!
